Rapha Care endorses the Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care.
The Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care states the rights of children and young people under the Guardianship or in the custody of the Chief Executive of the Department for Child Protection.
All children and young people have rights and those in care also have another, special set of rights as below:
- The right to be safe and well cared for
- The right to be listened to and have a say in decisions that affect them individually
- The right to be themselves and to be treated with respect
- The right to have contact with people who matter to them
- Right to good health, fun and play
- The right to connect with ones culture
- The right to privacy
- Right to a good education
- Right to get the support one needs so a child is ready to leave care and feel good about their future
The details are in The Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care which can be found HERE.
